Southeast Construction Green Project Showcase

1401 Crown Center was constructed in the early 1980s as a 52,000 sq-ft single tenant building without any energy efficiencies. Midgard Management began renovations using LEED criteria in 2008 adding a second floor to the structure bringing it to 76,703 sq ft. 1401 Crown Center features building systems that optimize indoor air quality, maximize energy efficiencies, and provide operational savings including a new Energy Star-rated white roof and technology is used to cycle in fresh air. The interior spaces are stylishly decorated using green materials such as recycled ceramic tile, low VOC paints, and energy efficient lighting. The facade of the building was also renovated to include the installation of large hurricane proof windows allowing natural light to flood the interior spaces.
