Blood drives...check. Annual Toy Drives...check. What we learned through those charitable efforts is that our commitment to the local communities we manage properties within runs deeper.
The end result: increased market awareness within our local communities; better exposure to our tenants which genuinely helped a number of organizations and individuals in need.
In contributing to our commitment to sustainability, it was an easy choice to partner with the ARC of Broward for electronics recycling drives. What we didn't expect was to have ARC report back to us that our drives netted more material for them then most of their municipal drives!
We now host ARC on our properties twice a year and they have become one of our community partners.
Lynn-Ann Ierna, our Director through her involvement with Ft. Lauderdale/West Palm Beach CREW also chaired a committee that raised over 300 business suits for Coast to Coast Legal Aid here in Ft. Lauderdale. She literally displaced the engineering office while we stored the suits until they were delivered. This year, Midgard was pleased to be a sponsor at the NAIOP Annual Golf Tournament which benefited Taylor's Closet, and we are currently collecting school supplies on behalf of Women in Distress.
We truly feel good about all of these efforts and it is yet another way to reach and involve our tenants. During this hard economic climate, we ourselves, were surprised at how responsive and generous our tenants were with these charities. We feel good about that...and so do they!
