"Nurture and Grow"
Last week was a great one for the Chamber and I get the feeling things are improving. At Taste of Weston, several Chamber investors indicated they are having a fantastic year good to hear since one of them was a residential real estate professional.
We ended the week with our field training for the BusinessF1rst retention and expansion project. This is a true, grassroots program designed to keep and grow existing businesses. The outcome of our work product will be that we: assist 15 companies, meet one-on-one with 50 CEOs, survey over 900 companies, keep or create 375 jobs, impact 75,000 square feet of commercial real estate, and create just under $1 million in capital investment.
This first stage of the multi-year project focuses on stabilization of our 15,962 companies while succeeding years will garner growth and recruitment. This is a labor intensive project, utilizing a core group of dedicated volunteers and business partners.
Without our corporate partners Florida Power & Light, The Las Olas Group, Patriot Risk Management, Midgard Management, WorkForce One, and Broward Health this joint program with the City of Fort Lauderdale would not have been possible.
The bridges we are creating with our current business base will pay dividends. Sometimes we are so busy cultivating new business we forget to nurture existing relationships.
