1475 Crown Center has been officially certified a LEED EB O&M (Existing Building: Operations and Maintenance) building by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
1475 Crown Center is the first building listed in Fort Lauderdale with the LEED EB O&M status. This certification also makes Crown Center the first office plaza in Broward County to earn multiple LEED certifications at the same office campus; 1401 Crown Center earned LEED New Construction - Silver certification in February of this year.
LEED-EBOM is based on operational performance rather than design criteria. The building, built in 1984, received its Energy Star rating in July. While Midgard Management utilizes best environmental practices throughout its portfolio, the decision was made to certify the 68,806 square foot building in order to satisfy the demand for greener office environments.
Midgard Management worked with Eco-Advisors to consult and document operational changes and sustainable upgrades.
